Ezekial Rose - Wv Metronews

East Mississippi CC defensive end Ezekial Rose, a late addition to the weekend’s visitor list at WVU, has  become the Mountaineers’ 16th commit for 2017.

Rose is a 3 star prospect according to 247Sports.

He previously had offers from Marshall, Southern Miss, Memphis, South Alabama and Louisiana-Lafayette. Rose also visited with Mississippi State.

Rose is 6-foot-3, 250-pounds.  After making 6.5 sacks in 12 games as a sophomore, he is expected to sign his national letter of intent this week.

Rose also plans to start at WVU in January.

Rose previously played tight end in high school.  He was also a member of the tennis and track teams as well.

With starting defensive ends Nwachukwu and Brown leaving for  graduation. Junior Xavier Pegues yet to play a down in 2 seasons, West Virginia needs immediate help at the position. Freshmen backups Adam Shuler and Reese Donahue should step into starting roles next season.

The Mountaineers’ other two defensive line commitments for this class — Darius Stills of Fairmont Senior and Jalen Harvey of Northwest Mississippi Community College —are big-bodied recruits better suited for the inside.

Rivals currently ranks West Virginia’s 2017 class No. 53 nationally and also No. 6 in the Big 12.
